I do! Her name is Makoto Kino. [She's Snow White's boss so, potentially, Rose knows her.] She's gorgeous and kind, one of the best cooks and bakers in the whole wide world, she's brave too! We're from the same world. I met Mako-chan by her rescuing me, actually! I was crossing the street and a car wasn't slowing down. She picked me right up and carried me to safety just as the car was about to hit me. She saved me again when she stopped a baseball from hitting me in the head with her bare hand!

I...think I've met her? Tall, reddish-brown hair? Snow White's employer? I've never done more than exchange pleasantries with her, but she seems nice. And that is lucky, to love someone from your own world. [and Usagi's story of how they met is romantic enough to make Rose want to swoon. there's nothing like being rescued. or being the rescuer] My goodness! She must be both terribly brave and quite strong! Well done!

That's her! She's always got pink rose earrings and smells faintly of rose perfume since pink roses are her favorite flower! And if you get a chance, feel free to talk to her more! Mako-chan is super nice.

She is she is! She'll absolutely stand up for her friends and loved ones. She's also super creative. Her lunch boxes are a perfect balance and so pretty! She loves spoiling her friends.

I will! Even if I don't live up to my namesake, roses.

Then it sounds like you're a lucky young woman, to have a girlfriend like that. I think that many of us have been lucky in love here, there seem to be couples everywhere.

It's okay, I don't always live up to being a bunny. I'm not skittish enough.

I noticed that, too. I used to be one of those people who just saw them all around me rather than BEING one since my situation is unique.

[Rose grins] Than I suppose there might not be anything to the power of names over a person's destiny.

Oh? If I may, how is it unique?

Oh, I have a soulmate back home. Makoto is actually friends with him, too. He's my fiancé. [Usagi holds up her left hand, the pink, heart-shaped diamond sitting comfortably on her ring finger.]

I absolutely love Makoto, but she also understands how I feel for him. She doesn't ask to replace him, only that she occupies a different space. That's... I mean, that's hard to ask of someone, to accept that you will never see them as something so grand and that they have to share space with someone. I always said that if I someone even saw me in that way, if they wanted to start a relationship here, I would explain that to them.

And she knows.

[Rose takes a long moment to ponder this]

...I'm not sure if I could do the same thing. There was a--a man I loved in my world. One who died to save me, one whose last name I took in honor of him. At the time, I thought he was my only soulmate. But Snow...she's proven herself my soulmate, too, in a different way. So I can't help but feeling that a person can have multiple loves of their lives with none of them eclipsing the other.

It doesn't hurt that he met Snow once, before I was sure of my feelings for her. But he seemed sure. And he was happy for me, for both of us.

And that's okay.

Everyone loves differently.

I'm glad your soulmate could see your other great love. Mamoru has to share me with Makoto. too. [With... all the girls, actually. Makoto is her soulmate, too, in a different way.]

Though, I agree, Makoto and Mamoru don't eclipse one another. [She would die and kill for both of them.]

But I couldn't have gone into a relationship without the other person knowing about him, about my feelings about him. That's what I meant by unique and why I thought I would always be someone surrounded by couples, not a part of one.

[and Rose nods in acknowledgement]

As am I. I'm pleased that he met her, even more so that he approved. He told me that--that my heart must go on, even without him. I'm sure that sounds mawkish to an extent, but I would have wished the same for him, should the tables be turned. And, if your love is willing to share, I'm pleased for all of your sakes.

It's impossible to do so. No two people are alike, neither are two loves. [and she'd be willing to fight or die for each of her own, but perhaps especially Snow. she'd already had a difficult enough life, Rose wanted to protect her]

I wish I could say that I understood completely, but the best I can do is compare it to myself and Jack. Jack freed me to be myself, not whom my mother and wretch of a fiancé at the time wanted. Snow frees me to feel the urge to protect, to fight for, to defend. Since it's what I choose, it's also freeing.

But you're choosing, too, are you not? Just as I am, to have two loves.

Ah, sorry your mom and initial fiancé weren't supportive. I hope you have lots of support here, though, for whatever your choices are. I want to protect and defend my loved ones too. I would do whatever I could to keep them safe.

I am, yes, it... I suppose because it's Makoto, it's easier for me to choose it because I've always loved her in a different way so a romantic way... it's not hard for me to come to that feeling either.

'Weren't supportive' is putting it very mildly. They were distressed and humiliated at the notion of myself loving a poor boy. I can only imagine what they'd do should they know I'd fallen in love with a young woman. Which should either of them arrive, would have to remain secret for a while. Especially were it Cal.

Well, they say that the best friends make the best romantic partners? I wish you and Makoto the best of happiness.

If either of them arrives, rest assured you wouldn't have to deal with them alone. As the champion of love and justice, I could never allow a jerk to stand in the way of love like that!
