Oh! Well, I just wanted to send a good afternoon kiss while I was at work! This one client asked for a birthday cake covered in red roses and I couldn't help but think of you and how much I love you!

I wanted to make sure you were having a wonderful day and staying especially warm as it gets colder. But my message meant for you kept landing in other people's omnis!

And allow me to send one back to you. And, they did? [now it's Rose's turn to blush] I'm so very glad to hear that. Because I love you, too, very much.

And I am! I don't think Melody likes this weather, but it's making Muffin especially cuddly. And, they did? That had to have been upsetting.

Roses are a very popular flower choice for cakes, usually because they are so pretty, red, white, pink roses especially because of all their ties with love and affection. I like making frosting flowers that are a bit unique, things not often asked for.

Here, this was the cake in question.

It was upsetting because I kept feeling further and further from you! I was about ready to leave the bakery with cake in hand if I didn't manage to catch you properly after this attempt.

I'm not surprised. Back in my time, there would sometimes be candied rose petals, violets, or orange blossoms, depending on what was available at the time. Though, I think your cake is even more lovely, since it's made with care from the heart and not simply someone trying to impress someone else.

Oh, no! Dearest...[Rose's eyes soften and she looks deeply concerned] I admit, the colder months make me cleave to my cottage a bit more often than usual, but I really should have taken your feelings into account.

Well, if I did want to impress you, my darling, what sort of cake might I make?

Oh, no, please don't be upset. I was just a little frustrated that I couldn't get the omni to work, that's no fault of yours! Or anyone else's, for that matter. You always take my feelings into account, dearest. You are a very considerate person.

Well...not one with roses or candied rose petals! It's horrifying, how often people tend to link a person and their namesake so closely. Honestly, were my name "Mary," would I be expected to---well, likely not. It's a poor example.

I suppose I am fortunate, most people don't give me anything to do with snow, white or otherwise. But then tell me what you would like, not roses, and perhaps not red, either. I have to know for YOUR birthday.

And, let's see, what would I like...I do love lavender and purple. [with a teasing grin] Perhaps candy coated violets could work?

Well, when I was very little, I'd be given snow-white animal toys, like rabbits or owls. I've always liked animals and my father was an indulging man. [Admittedly, he was a king, he's allowed to be.]

You think you've given me a difficult task, but for you my darling, I will achieve the impossible.

Ahhh, those would be adorable. And have you seen the snow white foxes wandering about? They're positively lovely, just like you. I think one or two would make a grand addition to your animal friends! And, it sounds as though your father really loved you.

I have, they come by to visit every now and then, especially if they can't find enough food.

It seems that having an eye for great beauties can sometimes explode in one's face. My ex-fiancé was much the same, he only paid attention to beauties and those with old money. To conceal the fact that Hockley Steel was largely new money.

[Snow White, being a princess, and a deeply sheltered one at that, had no concept of new nobility that bought titles or had long lineages.] Well, I suppose it might have exploded in father's face as well. [She never knew if it was true, she never believed the rumors of her stepmother poisoning her father. She had been so little.

She smiles as Rose says the last statement, that she could never disappoint. Her smile is one of gratefulness and relief.]

Oh! Hmm, it's a person who wasn't necessarily born rich, like I was. People like mother looked down on them, but I know Cal had been desperate for their approval. But I'll do whatever it takes to protect you.

Oh, well, I can understand as your fiancé he would want your mother's approval. But I suppose I don't understand wanting her approval because she's ah, born rich? If anything, I think it's much more impressive to earn wealth, whatever that means to you. You have to work for it rather than just being born in the right place to the right people. The dwarfs worked every single day for the wealth in their mines. They had been cultivating it for decades with their hard work.

Society is so strange to me sometimes. I wonder if I would understand it better if I had been raised like a proper princess.

I'm safer here than I was back home. My stepmother was actively seeking to kill me, this place isn't hunting me down, it just... has it's dangers, is all.

Your dwarfs came by their money sensibly, to try and earn it for themselves. It wasn't so back home for most people I knew. There were endless parades of people whose money dated back generations, all of whom knew each other and none of whom actually seemed to like one another. I'm so grateful it's not that way here, I think I'd go entirely mad.

It's strange to me as well and my ex-fiancé referred to us as royalty, given our wealth and influence. He gave me this...awful, gaudy necklace with a blue diamond which used to belong to Louis XVI, a dreadful thing. Though...were you raised as royalty, I can't imagine a single change to your wonderful, kind personality. You are as you were meant to be, kind and gentle and loving.

The dwarfs are very sensible, that is true. They are so sweet and wise. But I'm sorry to hear that all those people don't like one another! It seems... terribly troublesome to spend all your time disliking one another!

Is that terribly important? That the necklace belonged to a king? Blue isn't even your favorite color.

I would like to stay, the only way this place could be practically perfect in every way is if my dwarfs somehow made it here, or at the very least, knew I was okay.
