Oh, well, I can understand as your fiancé he would want your mother's approval. But I suppose I don't understand wanting her approval because she's ah, born rich? If anything, I think it's much more impressive to earn wealth, whatever that means to you. You have to work for it rather than just being born in the right place to the right people. The dwarfs worked every single day for the wealth in their mines. They had been cultivating it for decades with their hard work.

Society is so strange to me sometimes. I wonder if I would understand it better if I had been raised like a proper princess.

Your dwarfs came by their money sensibly, to try and earn it for themselves. It wasn't so back home for most people I knew. It's strange to me as well and my ex-fiancé referred to us as royalty, given our wealth and influence. It was incredibly troublesome. But, in the end...a great number of those men on the Titanic chose to die so that their wives could survive. John Jacob Astor, Benjamin Guggenheim, Isador and Ira Strauss...they chose to die so that others would have a chance at life. If only their sacrifices weren't taken in vain.

The jewel belonged to a king of India which had been colonized. Those colonizers chose to take the diamond and present it to Louis XVI. Then Louis XVI lost his head, along with the rest of his family, and the diamond was thought lost. Until it showed up recut as a giant heart.

If you're given a window between worlds the way Argonaut did last year, would you wish to see them?

Oh, I'm sorry that happened. Rose, darling, this isn't... the first time you've mentioned something horrible about the Titanic. You don't need to tell me if you don't wish to, but you always get such a sad look in your eyes and your smile falls. I'm sorry to hear those men died at all, but I suppose it shows that when feet are to the fire, they can show the truth of their affections.
