"Thank you, my dearest. Greetings from you count far more than that of anyone else." And the cake was beautiful, a true work of art.

"All right. Let's see, I do have a violet Earl Grey mix which would go well. It needs just the smallest amount of sugar and milk to be perfect. And another gift! I'm going to be spoiled. Now I'm sad that I only have the one gift for you."

"I want to spoil you, the way you spoil me. I think we're both rather fond of spoiling each other. Besides, you said you wanted a violet cake, and I intend to give my beloved a violet cake!" she giggled. "Now, let me set this down so I can hug you properly and give you your gift."

She headed into the kitchen and put down the cake before hurrying back to Rose and wrapping her up in her arms.

"Happy birthday, my love! And you are a gift all on your own."

"I think we are. And you should be spoiled as much as possible, even being treated to whatever you pleased, you'd be as sweet and loving as always. And I adore my violet cake!" Rose grinned broadly. "Ah yes, I very much want to hug you."

Rose's arms are open when Snow comes back and holds her back. Rose leaned in close to Snow, breathing her in, feeling more comfortable than she ever has before. This feels right. This feels like home.

"And a happy birthday to you, too, my beloved! And as are you, but I have a special gift for you hidden away."

She holds onto Rose and has no intention of leaving anytime soon. Rose is so warm and soft. Every part of her is beautiful to the curl of her hair to the tips of her toes. She's where Snow wants to be most.

"You can't give me a gift on YOUR birthday, Rose!" she giggles. She pulled away only a little so she could hold up the delicate cloth bag holding Rose's hairpin. "Some lavender and violets, and a purple rose along with some other flowers for you to always wear. I'll have to spoil you with purple to make up for all the red roses you've received."

And Rose never imagined finding someone like Snow, someone who is so good and kind and someone who believes in the best she can see in others, even when she herself had been treated poorly in the past. Someone who chose to trust and believe in her, Rose. Snow is one of the main reasons why she wants to stay here in Trench, so they can be together.

"No, but I can for Christmas. I had it commissioned a while ago, so no fuss." But before she can reach for the box in her pocket, she's given the little bag with her hairpin. "Oh! It's beautiful! Thank you so much, my dearest." And she leans in enough to give Snow a gentle kiss. "I adore it and I'll wear it all the time. But now, it's time for your present." And with her free hand, Rose pulls the decorative box out.

Snow took the box and opened it, her eyes widening and a hand going to cover her mouth as it opened.

"Oh... Oh Rose, Rose it's just... it's beautiful and stunning and-" Snow White felt her eyes start to burn, tears beginning to prick in the corner of her eyes. "I adore it," she whispered. "I never want to take it off." She took the necklace out, handing it to Rose.

"Will you put it on me?"

Rose looks decidedly pleased at Snow's reaction, wanting to brush her hair back gently with her fingers.

"I'm so very glad you like it. It has your Omen and mine, together, as you can see." And Rose leans in, prepared to kiss tears away should any show themselves. "I was hoping for that reaction. Besides, you deserve beauty, to make up for the times you weren't shown kindness."

And Rose took the necklace, moving to stand behind Rose, murmuring 'I'd be happy to,' as she clasped the necklace carefully around Snow's neck.

She leaned into Rose's touch, sighing in contentment, just... happy. She felt just joy at the moment, in being with Rose.

Rose's lips on each tear just made her smile more. "Then that must be why I have you because you are endless beauty and more kindness than I've ever known."

Joy was a good word for how Rose felt. Jubilant was another. She'd never expected Snow to share her feelings, but she has. Snow loves her. It's making her feel as though her heart could burst with happiness.

Did Rose feel like her heart could explode before? Now she's sure of it as she gently kissed Snow's tears away. "Funny, I could say the exact same about you. You're...lovely. In every possible way."

"I think we're both going to have to agree that both of us can be perfectly lovely. I would hate for us to get into a fight because we keep insisting the other is much lovelier," she giggled, bringing Rose's hands into her own and pressing kissed to the back of her knuckles now that the necklace was in place.

"You shower in me in as many compliments as you do kisses."
